Jennifer Rush LMFT-SC, LPC-S, NCC

Past- President

Jennifer has been in Louisiana since 2012. She has been working as a counselor since 2008 and has a background of working with addictions, relationship enhancement, and emotional development. She works to live by a motto of “living a happier and healthier life.” She is an energetic spirit and brings smile and laughter everywhere she goes. In her downtime, she loves to crochet and watch the Yankees and is never far from her books. She is active member of the Junior League of Greater Covington. Currently, she is working on finishing up her PsyD and looks forward to growing and advancing in the field.

Madelynn Fellon, MA., LMFT-SC, LPC-S, NCC

President (beginning July 1, 2025)

Madelynn is a Licensed Professional Counselor (Supervisor) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Supervisor Candidate), specializing in relationship counseling. Madelynn completed her Master’s Degree in both Clinical Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Holy Cross. Madelynn’s previous community experience has made her passionate about working with couples and individuals with various types of therapeutic needs, such as marital issues, communication problems, infidelity, grief, depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation. Madelynn has been taught by the best and hopes to pass on that knowledge to new counselors who share the same passion. Where Madelynn goes, therapy dog Gladys goes too. In her spare time, Madelynn enjoys reading, cross-stitching, and taking naps.

Susan Harrington, LMFT-S, LPC-S, AAMFT-AS

Treasurer (beginning July 1, 2024)

Susan has earned two Master of Arts degrees, Psychological Counseling from Nichols State University in 1999 and Marriage and Family Therapy from National University in 2014. She is dually licensed as an LPC and LMFT since 2002 and earned the status as a dually LPC Board Approved Supervisor and as an approved supervisor with AAMFT in 2005. Ms. Harrington’s mental health work has mostly been conducted through private practice, diversion programs, and non-profit agencies in the Greater New Orleans metropolitan area. Her professional and clinical experience specializes in working with LGBTQ+ and heterosexual adult relationship distress, grief-related concerns, and family dynamic issues. Her work experience began in addiction and working with the families and friends negatively impacted by its dis-ease. Ms. Harrington began supervising licensees as Hurricane Katrina began developing in the Gulf of Mexico, which enhanced her ability to gain experience with a wider range of populations, presenting concerns and demographics in diverse locations/settings, including in the Lafayette region of Louisiana where she now resides. She is actively engaged in supervising marriage and therapy interns, PLPCs, and PLMFTs, as well LMFTs seeking credentialing as an approved supervisor with AAMFT (within Louisiana and in other states) all within the systemic perspective. Ms. Harrington has also been an active member with her professional organizations (AAMFT, LAMFT, and LCA). After over 20 years in the amazing field of mental health, Ms. Harrington is currently enjoying working virtually from home, being with family, and making very long-term retirement plans.

Robert Hanser, PhD., LPC-S

Secretary (beginning July 1, 2025)

Rob Hanser has a doctorate and master-of-arts in marriage and family therapy. He also has a doctorate in criminal just and, after 23 years as a professor of criminal justice, Rob has recently joined the faculty in marriage and family therapy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

He has over 20 years of experience in corrections, working in reentry, classification & clinical services at the Louisiana Transitional Center for Women (LTCW) and the Blue Walters Program substance abuse treatment program at Madison Parish Correctional Center (MPCC). Rob also supervised a substance abuse treatment program and a sex offender treatment program (SOTP) at Richwood Correctional Center for approximately 10 years. 

He is the past president of the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (LCADV), is a member of the Louisiana Domestic Abuse Fatility Review Board, and has worked with couples and families affected by substance use, family violence, and trauma for over 20 years. Rob is also a site surveyor for the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for substance abuse and mental health treatment facilities.
