Workshop Description
The workshop will review current trends in the AAMFT Code of Ethics. It will also compare similarities and differences between different disciplines, such as the ACA and the APA Code of Ethics. It is important to talk intelligently to other disciplines when comparing ethical codes.
The workshop will also examine state laws governing the MFT license. Legal considerations include duty to warn and mandated reporting. Yes. There are specific laws governing our conduct in these areas.
Another important aspect covered in the workshop is ethical decision making. There are several Models from which to choose, which one is best for you?
Learning Objectives
1. Review Principles of the AAMFT Code of Ethics.
2. Compare the AAMFT Code of Ethics to other disciplines in the profession.
3. Apply process to the process of ethical decision making through case examples.
